Quote of the week:
“There’s nothing more rebellious than loving each other right now. Because the status quo is division. So to be rebellious, to be revolutionary, you have to love!”
-Ziggy Marley
Hola a todos ustedes gente hermoso! I hope you’re healthy and happy on this, the blackest of Fridays.
Since it’s Black Friday (and the holidays) I figured I should self-indulgently plug The Well-Lived Life :)
This blog is supported entirely by its readers (though it is entirely free to read, and always will be). I’ll never chuck in scammy advertising because I want this to be a community.
In honor of this fake, consumerist holiday, I’m putting all the subscription buttons in one place. If you’re enjoying and you’d like to gift a subscription to someone you know, support at a discounted rate, or support at the full price, all of the buttons are below for your clicking pleasure:
PHEW! I made it through the plug. ON TO THE BLACK FRIDAY FUN FLIER!
I am just vibrating with happiness and energy. Puerto Escondido has been a whirlwind of Salsa classes, surfing, Spanish lessons, and acroyoga jams, with delicious Mexican food piled on top.
It’s the movement school of my dreams.
I hope everyone is laying around stuffed on Thanksgiving leftovers, surrounded by the people they love, with their phones off.
In fact, I hope you dropped your phone in the garbage disposal and it exploded.
Unless, of course, you’re reading this on your phone, in which case this is the best possible use of your time!
A podcast episode that made me laugh and think:
This is not a surfing interview, it just happens to be a surfing podcast.
If you’re unfamiliar with him or his work, Ziggy Marly is Bob Marley’s son, an incredibly talented singer/songwriter in his own right. I was introduced to his music a few years ago when a friend showed me Love is My Religion.
In this interview, he discusses growing up with his father’s legacy, his musical background, and our responsibility to save the earth and secure our children’s future.
He discusses all these things in a beautiful Jamaican accent that’s like verbal chocolate. You’ll love it!
Just a short dispatch and a plug today my friends, for I must away to my salsa school! It’s a very busy, challenging life I currently lead :)
Happy belated Thanksgiving, may the gods smile upon your ventures and keep you free from misfortune.
NAMASTE.
